    THE GATEWAY OF HERMES AND CHARITES,IS TO BE FOUND IN THE BACK STREET IN THASSOS TOWN,THAT RUNS BEHIND THE TOWN BEACH ROAD,THERE IS A SIGN.
    THE FOLLOWING SHOTS WERE TAKEN IN MAY 2012,AND AS CAN BE SEEN THERE IS NOT A LOT TO SEE.

    THIS GATEWAY IS TO FOUND ON THE OUTSKIRTS OF THASSOS,ON ONE OF THE MAIN ROADS THAT LEAVE THASSOS TOWN AND IS ONE OF SIX GATES THAT CAN BE TRACED..
    IT CAN BE FOUND SOME 800MTS FROM THE HAROUR ON THE MAIN ROAD LEADING SOUTH OUT OF TOWN.

    THE ODEON OF THASSOS,SITTING IN THE SOUTHERN CORNER OF THE AGORA, IT IS OFTEN MIST BY VISITORS DUE THE HIGH GRASSES IN THAT CORNER,AND CAN BE BETTER VIEWED FROM THE ROAD THAT RUNS TO THE REAR OF THE AGORA.

    ON THE OUTSKIRTS OF THASSOS TOWN,APROX 700 MTS FROM THE OLD HARBOR,LIES THE GATEWAY TO ZEUS AND HERA,ONE OF THE SIX GATES THAT CAN BE TRACED IN THASSOS TOWN.
    YOU HAVE TO LOOK AT IT AND IMAGINE IT IN THE FORMER GLORY THAT IT ONCE WAS, AS ONLY SCANT REMAINS CAN BE SEEN.

    THE NEXT BAY SOUTH??? A GREAT BEACH

    THIS IS ONE OF THOSE BEACHES,THAT YOU FIND BY SIMPLY DRIVEING AROUND,IF YOU HEAD SOUTH TOWARDS THE MONASTERY OF THE ARCHANGEL MICHAEL.
    THIS VERY QUITE BEACH IS WAITING,IT IS TO BE FOUND IN THE NEXT BAY AFTER THE MONASTERY,AS CAN BE SEEN IT HAS ONLY THE BASICS,BUT WHAT IT HAS GOT LOTS OF IS PEACE AND QUITE ALONG WITH A LOTS OF SPACE ENJOY.

    THE THEATRE OF LIMENAS/THASSOS TOWN IS FAIRLY MODEST ONE BY GREEK STANDEDS,BUT IS STILL WELL WORTH A VISIT,THERE IS NOT A LOT OF THE STONE WORK IN ITS ORIGANAL PLACE,THE MOST PART OF THE STAGE AREA IS NOW IN STONE PILES JUST OF SITE,AND AS CAN BE SEEN IN THE PICTURE THAT FOLLOW THERE NOT A LOT OF SEATS LEFT.
    THAT BEEN THE NEGATIVE POINTS WHAT CAN BE GAINED BY A VISIT IS THE VIEWS FROM HERE OVER THE TOWN AND OVER THE SEA TO THE ISLAND OF THASSOPOULA,PLEASE VISIT AND ENJOY.
    TO REACH THE THEATRE YOU HAVE TO WALK THROUGH THE MAIN STREET IN TOWN,TOWARDS THE HARBOUR, AS YOU PASS THE RESTAURANT [SIMI] ON THE HABOUR FRONT 50 YARDS PASSED HERE ON YOUR RIGHT, THERE IS A SMALL STREET LEADING YOU UP PAST THE SITE OF THE TEMPLE OF DIONYSOS,KEEP FOLLOWING THIS SMALL STREET,YOU WILL REACH THE THEATRE AFTER 10 MINS THERE IS NO CHARGE FOR ENTRY.

    A little chapel of simple beauty

    Leaveing the main town beach heading north ,if you keep on walking along the track for about 200 mts,you come to the beach cafe KARNAGIO, if you look up to your right there you will see a very nice little chapel,and also the ruins of an early church,it is well worth a visit. A WARNING THE GROUND HAS SOME SHALLOW HOLLOWS/GRAVES BE VERY CAREFUL.
