When visiting the Western corfu town of Pelekas be sure to head through the town and up the hill to kaisers Throne,a collection of small buildings that lead to steps which in turn lead to two observation posts,one slightly higher than the other.From here you get spectacular panoramic views of both the east and west coasts of the island,its very high up so its not for the faint hearted but is safe enough,no entry fee and plenty of parking.There is also a cafe bar right next door for refreshments as it gets very hot up here.
The walk uphill from Pelekas was a favorite stroll of both Empress Elizabeth of Austria and Kaiser Wilhelm of Germany.
