One of the best delicacies a tourist can buy from Lefkas are:Salami and Sausages.And the best name for the above mentioned products is: DELIMARI.

Despite Lefkas Town being badly hit by earthquakes in 1948 and 1971, it has a charm of it's own. There are many interesting old fashioned shops, particularly fish, meat and vegetable. We enjoyed shopping here, taking our time and looking from shop to shop. There are some excellent "snack" shops selling sausage rolls etc. for when you feel a bit peckish.
What to buy: Fruit and veg. We went mad with cherries!!!
There are the usual supermarkets, also.

This little shop is dominated by an old fashioned loom, which is manned in shifts by very talented craftsmen (women actually), who continue to work steadily, but expertly, as you wander about.
They are very quick to answer any questions about their handiwork, and enjoy the opportunity to stop weaving and describe the various items for sale.
I believe the women work as a co-operative, and share in the proceeds.
What to buy: Everything within the shop is hand crafted, either woven on their old fashioned loom, knitted, or the ladies lovingly crochet various items worthy of the most critical eyes back home.
Be warned, everything is expensive, but of fine quality.
