As you walk along Romaikos Yialos, the restaurants and bars seem to alternate. We had planned to take photographs of our favourite restaurants, but - well perhaps next year. There is so much choice in Myrina - but our favourites in addition to Limenakia were La Terrain, Romeos at the end of the beachfront which has a delightful terrace right underneath the castle, an excellent Italian restaurant serving Pizza and Pasta to name just a few of our favourites.
The bars along Romaikos Yialos in the early evening are also a superb location from which to take photographs of the sun setting - and in the distance you can just make out the outline of Mount Athos.
Favorite Dish: The local restaurants serve such a wide range of different specialities that it is definitely worth trying out a different one every night.

There are half a dozen restaurants on the harbour at Myrina - all good - but our favourite had to be Limenakia - at the end of the small harbour - before you turn right. Limenakia is the restaurant that has blue and yellow check table clothes and offers an abundance of freshly caught fish and a vast choice of greek favourites.
Favorite Dish: Nothing could ever beat the fresh lobster we had during our stay. We went into the kitchen where we selected our still moving beast. The waiter then took it to the scales, weighed it and told us the cost. It was absolutely divine, served at our request with just a very small salad garnish - although for people with larger appetites it can be served with either spaghetti or a greek salad. Absolutely delicious.
There is a varied selection of typically Greek dishes available at Limenakia and the average cost of a meal for two with a kilo of house wine - would be about 25-30 euros.

Nice traditional place with very friendly people.
You can taste some local cuisine as well as many other Greek dishes.
Favorite Dish: As a matter of fact i liked many of its dishes but the one that reminded me of my mother's cooking (and she was a good cook) was the 'dolmadakia' . The waitress told us that their grandmother prepares this dish for them.

You will find some nice restaurants with typical greek foods and most of them had good prices.
Of course, as everywhere in Greece, you can have a souvlaki, a cheap and tasteful food.

Limnos has 18.000 inhabitants but much more soldiers! :) This is the first reason many tourists avoid approaching this island of Aegean sea. The second reason is because of the not so good connection...
