Car Hire !!
The Best way to Tour Limnos is to hire your own transportation, We hired a car from " Holiday Car rentals " and found them Very Good. They have an office both in Myrina and at the Airport. Their prices are reasonable and their vehicles are in good condition and well maintained and their staff are Very helpful. I can Give this company the Best of recommendations !!!!

How to go and move around
The easy way is to go there is by plane. There are two flights every day and in 35’ from Athens you are there. You can also fly from Limnos to Thesaloniki, Rhodes, Lesvos, Samos, Chios
The other way is by boat. From Lavrio is almost 18 hours! There are 4 boats per week.
From Kavala is 5 hours with one boat per day.
From Alexandroupolis is 4,5 hours with 2 boats per week.
There are buses all day towards and from Miryna with the rest of Limnos' villages. There are also some taxis. In case you want to rent a car you can call at those companies(most of them have offices at the port and sometimes a second one at the airport): Palatianos +302254092115 Petridis +302254022039 Hassapis +302254024773 Hatzoglou +302254023777 +302254023125 Konstantios +302254022127 Garofallis +302254041666 Tzaneros - Xenos +302254024476
Help! Getting to Limnos from the North
We'll be coming to Limnos from Istanbul in early July. I have read there are ferries from Kavala and Alexandroupolis, but I have not been able to find a schedule or been able to use one of the many online ferry sites/search engines to find the frequency with which these routes are travelled. I imagine they are fairly frequent, but I would like to find out for sure.
Does anyone know how often you can travel via ferry from either Kavala or Alexandroupolis? An evening stay in Samothraki would be fine.
Ferry from Samothraki to Limnos
This is hardly the most Elegant looking ferry that I have ever travelled on !! -- In fact it looked as though it had just returned from a war !!?? But never-the-less it transported us safely from Samothraki to Limnos in under 4 hours !! The inside did look better than the outside too !!!!!
And as ever the prices were reasonable, we obtained our ticket without any difficulty from one of the small ticketing offices in Kamariotisa.
