Perhaps the most spectacularly sited church on the Island, with steep steps up to the chapel and a hermitage nearby. Also around here are some very nice beaches.

As usual with places with hot climate, there are a lot of insects around on Skopelos - wasps and horseflies are the ones that worried us !
I know that the general wisdom is that they are harmless unless you agitate them by waving them away frantically, but that was not the case here.
My wife was stung twice by wasps when she wasn't even aware of their presence, i.e. they simply landed on her and stung immediately !
Also there are some huge horseflies with green eyes that apparently can bite half your leg off (according to the guy that cleaned our swimming pool). When one of those landed in the vicinity (sounding like a WW2 bomber), I didnt stick around long enough to find out !

How do you choose which Greek Island to visit, there are thousands of em ?! I spent hours on VT and Trip Advisor, and finally decided on Skopelos because it looks beautiful, and it is not over-run...
This is a lovely wooded island with great beaches and pleasant places to stay. Apparently good walking too but too hot when I was there.
