So the sand dunes are quite hard to find but they are so worth the effort. amazing bright orange sand dunes. (see pictures)best place is: once you get to the car park right at the top, walk as far up and across as possible, that's where the real dunes are!!

    Limnos Island Things to Do

The Flamingos are quite a well known attraction on Lemnos but what most people don't know about are the salt flats that appear when the lake dries out in the summer and the flamingos leave.they are an amazing sight and really good fun (especially if you have rented a car, as its easy to drive onto and do some doughnuts and drifting)

In the North part of the town, between a green pinewood and the sea, stand the remains of the castle. Skopelos Warnings and Dangers

As usual with places with hot climate, there are a lot of insects around on Skopelos - wasps and horseflies are the ones that worried us !I know that the general wisdom is that they are harmless unless you agitate them by waving them away frantically, but that was not the case here.My wife was stung twice by wasps when she wasn't even aware of...

Well, the boat's schedule is not the best you can find. There are no everyday transfers, so you have to prepare an accomodation there. Alternatively you can use the transportation type depicted on the photo, but I guess you won't find it convenient for your budget. -))) "Rent a helicopter" service is provided from Athens, and I estimate it will cost you as a Paris-N.Y. ticket.

Another way to visit the island -)
