    The OLD LITTLE TRAIN

by StefanosS Updated May 2, 2003

    1.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Take the OLD LITTLE TRAIN to climb Pilion! The old train, made on the begining of the 20th century, abandoned by our 'civilization', was revived some years ago. People of Volos and Pilion really love it!

    SCUBA DIVING!

by StefanosS Updated May 2, 2003

There is a fantastic little island at the exit of Pagassitikos gulf, named PYTHOU, near Trikeri cape. You can hire all necessary hardware from Volos (if you are trained in diving) and follow an all-day scuba excursion by boat. There are over 20 different places for diving arround the small island. It's an unforgetable experiance! Novices can take lessons on diving.
NOTICE Scuba diving in Greece is allowed only in a specific list of places, mainly for protecting marine antiquities. Underwater fishing is allowed only without air-bottles, but on your own breath.

    TSA-GA-RA-DA ! ! ! and more...

From Volos take the mountain road to Mt. PILION, until you get to TSAGARADA, one of the finest villages overlooking the Aegean sea and the islands of Skiathos, Skopelos & Allonisos.
For a bath drive down to Agios IOANNIS, for good fish food choose the left taverna at picturesque DAMOUCHARI (the road ends at the beginning of the small village, walk the few meters down to the beach).

Have a ride on a landeau. Some landeaux are waiting for you at the seaside to take you for a little tour along the coast.
