Leather Centro: Bargains on Leather Goods
No trip to Paralia is complete without a stop at Leather Centro! Each year the store will is filled with the latest models of leather jackets for men and women at fantastic prices.
The jackets are very well priced. You can get a good quality jacket for around 100 Euros. Turn down the cheap offers advertised outside as the quality of the leather is usually poor. Go inside and ask for something similar and you are likely to get a very good jacket for just 20-30 Euros more.
If they don't have your size in stock in the store at the moment, they can often radio the warehouse to see if your size is in stock. If your size isn't available, you can order one for pickup in a couple of days to a week.
The staff that I have dealt with all spoke excellent English.
What to buy: I've purchased both jackets and gloves from Leather Centro. I've been very happy with the quality of all the items I've purchased, owning some of them for more than 3 years now!
Motorcycle jackets are good quality and very reasonable prices. Pick your sponsors and get your jacket!
The leather gloves are a great bargain at 10Euros a pair...especially for someone like me who always is losing a glove! The few pairs that I have purchased have been excellent quality and comfortable. Make sure to try on both gloves before you buy them. I once picked up a pair that had two right-hand gloves :)
What to pay: For a good jacket, you will pay 120-150 Euros. Better quality or more detailed cuts will run you upwards of 150 Euros.
Gloves are fixed at 8-10 Euros a pair, depending on the cut.
Shopping on the Beach!: Shopping without leaving your Sunbed!
I can't really describe the shop because there is no physical location! You can basically shop for everything from necklaces to pictures to cheap Chinese radios all from your sunbed on the beach. Oh, and I can't forget to mention the cheap knock-off sunglasses and CDs :)
There are a couple picture sellers that go up and down the beach. The pictures are very good quality and they don't seem to mind being rolled up for long periods of time...although they do want to keep rolling up afterwards and it takes a while to straighten them out again.
Some of the Chinese sellers offer black ink tattoos that are fun for kids and wash off after several days to a week. They also offer beachside massages, using tiger balm and oil to rub out sore muscles.
What to buy: You can buy nice Greek seascapes or traditional village buildings or go for more exotic African style art.
If you really want to relax, sign up for a relaxing Chinese massage.
What to pay: Expect to pay 5 Euros per picture. The price is pretty much fixed as it is already dirt cheap.
Sunglasses also run 5 Euros but can go higher based on higher knock-off quality :)
The massage price changes depending on the length of time but is quite affordable.
Just in case...: Pharmacy
