Katerini Transportation

  • Bad Bus System

The bus system in Greece is really bad, especially for tourists. The schedule makes no sense. Despite the fact that it's written in Greek, the times are inaccurate, i.e. our bus arrived 15 minutes later then it was suppose to.The connections are also really bad. We were traveling to Dion and had to change buses in Katerini. Our driver didn't speak...

Katerini Tourist Traps

  • Roma Kids Selling Flowers

There is a troop of Roma (Gypsy) children in Paralia that sell roses during the afternoon and evening. They will come directly to your table and try...

  • Cheap Knock-Off CDs

During the summer months CD hawkers swarm the beach trying to sell knock-off CDs and sometimes DVDs to tourists. One way to check the...

  • Walk on water :)

From that tiny strip of sand beach in front of the hotel I stayed in Paralia Katerini there was this path of stones that take you almost 50 meters inside the sea. Probably this is a great place in the summer, for tanning and then go for a swim. In December, this was only a great fun to walk so far.
