If you drive a few miles away from Parga you can find yourself at the site of Nekromanteion, ?The Oracle of the Dead? located on a hillside near Messopotamos Village. According to ancient legend, the local tribes of Thesprotes used this oracle as a way of communicating with the dead. The site was connected with the local Kingdom of Hades, king of the underground world and dates back to the 18th Century as well as the polygonal walls which surround the so-called labyrinth and the ruined installations of the destroyed holy Altar of Hades. From here, you are able to enjoy the magnificent view of the Acheroussia Lake, today dry , and the green fields, which have replaced it. Carefully follow your guide and step down to the lower lever to visit the legendary cave.
You can also visit Acheronta river. There are no words to describe it.
Walk to the church on the hill over Parga
A nice walk is to go up to the small church between Lichnos and Parga - far up on the hill, fantastic view from there
More Lychnos beach photos
This is Lychnos Beach. It is located in a small gulf only 15 minutes by car but you can also get there on a boat from Parga.
