Various: Samos City/Tsamadou/Chora
There are many nice restaurants, we got some tips from the "locals" and went to:
Samos City, turn right at the bus station, and head for the square with the HUGE tree. On the left of the tree, at the corner a very nice, inexpensive local restaurant. Try the terrace! Also in Chora, just before entering town (coming from Pythagorion) and opposite of the appliences shop (left) there is a bakery/Pizzeria/restaurant run by a Dutch girl and her Greek husband. Very good local food! Also we enjoyed the food and maybe even more the view in the Tsamadou Taverna on beautiful Tsamadou beach, close to Kokkarion. Try to avoid the beachfront restaurants in Samos City and Pythagorion. They are quite "expensive" and usually not as good as the village "Tavernas".
Favorite Dish: Various, we always ask the owners to advise us. And Greeks being Greeks, they will not advise you the more expensive dishes but the ones they think are tasty!Related to:

Forgot, but easy to find.: Extremely good bakery and cafe in Pythagorio
This bakery had a full range of Greek sweet cakes and dessert-style food. Plus some international cakes to satisfy the package tour clientele with little experience of tooth-decaying Greek syrup-dripping bakery stuff.
Favorite Dish: We did a good sample of different cakes and bakery goodies as a take-out to our hotel veranda after a late dinner at a harbourfront taverna.
What was best is difficult to say... wasn't it all good???Related to:
