Two shops in Pythagorio: Samos wines
They both carried a very good range of Greek wines in addition to groceries, souvenir foods and snacks geared at tourists. All places with a shop will be able to come up with some wines. The most famous wine from Samos is a very sweet dessert wine, simply called "Samos" (Vin Doux).It comes in several varieties, the two I liked (marginally) best were Samos Grand Cru and Samos Nectar. It is a very good idea to bring some bottles of this golden stuff back home. And it's an honest product, not fortified of fixed by any means. You do need to like sweet wines, though.Of other wines, the Sameena Golden i s a dry white table wine based on Muscat grapes. Good with seafood. A step up is the dry white Doryssa.Selana is a dry rosè, perhaps the most interesting wine whether you like pink wine or not, based on Phochian and Retinian grape varieties. A good pink wine.My vote goes for the Samos Grand...
