I wrote you before that the Thessaloniki is the replica of Ýzmir (turkiye) or vice versa
Thats why we have also a hill which dominate the city. Its called Old city this was also the old Turkish quarter .The view of the Thermaikos Gulf is breathtaking .In Izmir this area is called "yamanlar" and you can enjoy the view of Izmir bay and city
Dont forget to visit this place specially in sunsets
this is my favourite place in the whole city. it's a perfect spot to come with a couple of friends (or, for the romantic ones, with the person you love;) ), grab a couple of beers and sit on the walls, watching the sunset. it's so calming, quiet and relaxing.. and, of course, the view from it is fantastic!
If you have the opportunity of visiting Thessaloniki, make sure that you visit the Old city ! It is also called the Kastro - the old Turkish quarter on a hillside above the new urban centre - offers great views across the city and the Thermaikos gulf.
It has a lot of viewpoints for taking photographs, amazing narrow streets, very old houses, colours, and sunsets from all over the city and close to the castle. Very very nice!
Have ready some good films for those who prefer no-digital and good memory cards for those digits ;-) you will enjoy all arounds.
Visit the old city walls above the historical center of town. Walk around, there are plenty of cafes and restaurants to visit, enjoy the view of the Thermaikos gulf and the sunset from this spot. If you are lucky you may get a glimce of Mount Olympos- the home of the old Greek gods...
