    Visit the White Tower
A good idea is to visit the White tower. It is a guard tower made by the Othomans in the end of the 15th century. Now it is a small museum with historical and archaeological interest.

    White Tower Museum

Inside the White Tower a small museum hosts some outstanding valuable articles. Here is a couple of bracelets of gold and enamel, dated on 10th century AD.

    not a postcard ;-)

It is probably the most famous building in central Thessaloniki. The White Tower used to be a prison (and it was called the Bloody Tower then). At present it hosts a small museum of byzantine art.

Thessaloniki's most prominent landmark is not white anymore but houses an interesting Byzantine museum. It's open Tuesday to Sunday and free of charge.

      Hello Matalon!
The Museum of White Tower is open Tuesday to Sunday from 08:00-15:00.
There are only stairs, so people with disabilities can virtually tour the museum on the ground floor.
The space is rather limited and there can be up to 70 people at the same time in the Tower maximum. You should also know that, due to the space issue, there is no toilet space, or a place to leave your coat or your luggage.
Apart from that, the exhibitions are interesting and the Tower itself, so it is worth the visit.

      Thank you Maria
We were in Thessaloniki last May and we saw the tower and the parc.
We had no time to visit inside unfortunately.
The city is very nice and we enjoy our vacation.
      Thanks again
      Matalon
