Kalambaka and Meteora have the usual gift and souvenir shops. Among the local crafts are ceramics, leather goods, jewellery and embroidered linens, all of which make very popular holiday memories. Markets are lively places and are well worth a visit. The city shops provide a more market experience as usual.
In my tradition is do not waste time on shopping so I'm a bad shopping adviser.

According to a local tradition we stopped at an icon workshop that makes and sells icons. Here we saw how the Icons are still made in a slow, painstaking traditional way.
I’ve bought an icon with Certificate and Commitment for quality. It says that this copy is a precise copy of old Byzantine Icon on canvas with authentic angiography colors, inalterable in time. Made of pure silver 925˚, worked by traditional artisans.
It’s free for exportation.
It cost 260€ at a discount of 40%.

There are small, hm, "shops" in front of some monasteries. You can buy some souvenirs, films and batteries for camera and post cards. But, they don't have post stamps so you have to go in Kalambaka to buy it.

This shop should interest Orthodox and Eastern Christians more, because as Catholic I did not buy almost anything from here. Simply, my religious feelings usually are touched by our traditional icons. But in order to be helpful…
There are several workshops in Kalambaka, where icons are painted according to old traditions. I was in one of them, so called Dimitris Zervopoulos Workshop. Here you will be able to see how icons are painted and to choose an icon, which you like. Icons of saints are not just art, so the prices are not so low. Besides icons, you’ll find here souvenirs, books, jewellery, etc.
