    Internet Access at Korissia

    Here it is!

Favorite thing: If you need internet access here, there is a little billiards/internet cafe just off the beach end of the harbour on a side street just up from the supermarket.

Computers weren't perhaps as hi-tech as some but were fast enough to pick up emails etc.

Note tho' that the place shuts for a couple of hours in the afternoon!

Favorite thing: When we took a taxi up to the village of Otzias, Hans and I, along with Carmen, Stace and Sandra followed a trail past the town and past the cemetery and came upon the ANCIENT LION . It was sculpted in 600 AD of local stone. It is remarkably well preserved for being so old.

    Church in Korissia
    4 more images

Favorite thing: The picturesque ISLAND OF KEA or Tzia lies in the Cyclades close to the south-east coast of Attica and 42 nautical miles from the Piraeus. Its main port, where we docked Sunday and Monday is Korissia. Korissia has a long sandy beach, a chapel, a Church, a supermarket, several restaurants, cafe's, bars and shops. Monday most of us took a taxi up to Otzias, 5 km northwest of Korissia. Otzias is in the north part of Kea and is ideal for walks. Make sure to see the sculpted lions - circa 600 B.C. just on the outskirts of the town, just past the cemetery.
Korissia is also a port of call for the FERRY boats.

    Eirini and Andreas walking

Favorite thing: Nice walkings in the small roads of Ioulida. As in many of cycladic islands capitals, motorbikes and cars are forbidden inside the town. Ioulida has very picturesque and guite roads, ideal for walkings.

    boats near the port

Favorite thing: Korisssa is the main port of Kea island. This is a small port but Kea has many ferries connections from the central ports of Athens, Rafina, Lavrio and Pireas ports. Along the harbour there are also many fish tavernas.

The closest cycladic island to Athens

by Aggeliki Written Oct 6, 2003

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Favorite thing: Kea is the closest cycladic island to Athens. Kea has a land of 131 sq. km and a coastline of 81 km. It has a population of about 2,000 people. Due to small distance from Athens, only 12 nautical miles from Sounion, Kea or Tzia is a popular destination for Athenians, and a very good choice for a weekend.
