  • Even in the very hot summer, while we were there we had some extremely windy days requiring cardigans and other long-sleeved clothing while wandering around town.

For a beach resort, people were actually dressed very smartly and trendily. Definitely not a scruffy t-shirt sort of place in the evenings - think more Dolce & Gabbana.

    Bring lots of sun-block obviously

I don't use my film camera anymore so don't quite know how much film costs in Mykonos. But for information there were more than a couple of places in town where you could copy your digital photos onto a CD

I practically don't have to mention it, but bring your sunglasses, and bring a cheap pair and a good pair! The good pair should be worn walking around town, lying on the beach, while shopping, on Delos...The cheap pair should be worn when doing wiler things like jet skiing. I've only owned one "good" pair of sunglasses and they are now sitting at the bottom of the Aegean Sea, because they dropped into the sea while I was jetskiing. So do yourself a favor, not one pair of sunglasses, but two!

  • If you are jsut doing the islands, you will need little else than your swimming gears. Remember sun tan lotions and sun screens .

Ok, this will sound funny, but then again we had not thought of it. My husband dived into a sparkling pool of the hotel, and misjudged the depth. He was lucky to get away with just a superficial cut on his nose. But we did not have any band aids, or antiseptic cream, or PAIN PILLS..

Yes, well ,once again, we did not think we were going to be eaten alive by mosquitoes, at this stunning little hotel on the beach, and we had no mosquito repellant. We fought them off until the early morning...

Nothing special to be packed for Mykonos, except maybe

some extra films, as they might be rather expensive on the island any what might be a biogger porblem, they might be stored in the sun instead of a cool place

  • The price for sunscreen and after-sun products is off the charts in the Hora. I ended up biting the bullet and shelling out 22euros, which was the cheapest I could find, for SPF 25 and Aloe Gel. Also, if you are coming from Athens to Mykonos, you will find the same prices around the Plaka. Bring sunscreen with you from home!!!!

  • especially during the summer months, pack light, shorts T-shirts etc. It is quite hot and humid night life is fairly casual., Black pants for ladies and a nice shirt. You can do some serious shopping so only pack what you need.

  • Light luggage or bags that have wheels or backpacks as there are no cars allowed in Mykonos Town, these will be easier to carry around if your hotel is located in the heart of town.

  • Something not too bulky, like a duffel or a small luggage with rollers

Bikinis, Cover ups, Shorts, Tank Tops, Sunglasses (Big Jackie O type a must there), Comfy but nice looking flip flops/sandals, Light Sweater for evening, Something slightly dressier for dinner and night out. I was surprised that people were so dressed and seem to even bring a whole caboodle of accesories

Sun Block/Bronzer, After Sun, Moisturizer, Lip Balm, Hair Conditioner and of course shampoo, Hair Mask (if your hair dries out quickly)
