You may enjoy seafood, but much more Greek specialities, an incomparable Greek Salad and a carraffe of Retsina, the local dry and somewhat bitter, resined wine, accompanied by original Greek music (by the tape, of course).
The best Greek Salad I ever had, immediately by the sea in an incredible blue and natural environment. 2 Greeks and half a litre of retsina will set you back for about 25,- USD

I dont know how many of you have ever taste a souvlaki, but this is our favorite fast-food.
I'm not going to describe what is a souvlaki but you have to taste it, and actually the first day of you visit in Greece.
This tip can help you save a lot of money, cos probably then you'll only want to eat souvlaki. And the cost of one souvlaki is from 1,30 to 2,00 euros.Men will need 2-3 of them and women 1-2.
Anyway in Mykonos the best place to taste it is Alexis shop.Easy ti find, as it is in the only place a taxi can get you in the town. Manto square. It is on the back side of tasxis stop and very difficult not to find.

One of the few simple honest places to eat on Mykonos.Situated in Agios Ioannis this place offers a wide variety of greek and meditteranean cuisine.Open for breakfast snacks pizza pasta and probably the best FRESH Gyros on the island.Very helpfull stuff always a happy feeling.Mix crowd ages races here everybody is special!!open until late for dinner as well serving fresh meat grilled on coal home made pies and cakes.the owner very friendly and always there to chat about everything you want to know.Here you come as a tourist you go away as a friend!!!

The best well kept secret in Mykonos for food is Kiki's tavern in AgiosSostis beach.In a small terrace, covered by a huge tree and overlooking the Panormos bay,this place offer very a very tasteful small menu. Since there is no electricity, there is a selection of a lot salads, of different kinds and also there is a bbq providing meat and chicken fillets only.These come with a very tasty sauce and you also can order baked potatoes...
For sure is a very good place and really worth a visit...

The dishes from this restaurant seem like they come straight from the sea that is only a few feet away. The men who serve you are very attentive and have really great thick greek accents.

Along the frontage of the harbour here at Chora are the expected collection of terraced cafe/bars which are all pretty much of a one-ness, all catering for the casual tourist, whether just for a coffee or a beer, or a full-blown repast. As always the trick is to avoid the ones that aren't busy, then just choose the one with the friendliest waiting staff. Mourayio fitted the bill perfectly and avoiding the obviously touristy bits on the menu made for an ideal relaxed late lunch watching the tourists and the harbour life doing what it does with a pleasant sea breeze taking the edge off the afternoon sun.
Here I tried the deliciously meaty Mykonian sausage, along with taramasalata, Greek salad and bread, washed down with a couple of bottles of Mythos. For less than 25 euros this was exactly what I wanted, excellent way to refuel before wandering round the town proper. In a town with taverns located side-by-side, Mykonos has many choices for food. Seafood and classic Greek dishes are specialities. Id probably say that the easiest way to find a good taverna is to check the menu and then see how many tables are taken. One of our favourites for authentic Greek food was the large and ever-popular Niko's Tavern. Just in from the harbor, it's has daily specials (roasted lamb, fish, for example), seafood and pasta and Greek dishes, all for 5-10 Euros (and beers are just 2 Euros).
