Susanna Ricci from Trieste is an Italian, who lives for many years in Naxos, so we can consider her as a "Naxian".Some years ago, she opened the restaurant that bears her name in the most cental part of the Town of Naxos.It' s a spacious restaurant that can catter for many people, open all year long.
You can taste a big selection of pizzas (what else from an Italian restaurant!), as well as all the famous dishes you would expect from the Italian cuisine: from spaghetti, ravioli and lasagni to more sophisticated meat dishes.Do not forget the Italian desserts like tiramissu!
The atmosphere is friendly and the prices more than affordable!

Favourite restaurant for the last three years and still No.1 Run by Georgio and fronted by two of the most wonderful characters ever encountered - a couple of lovely elderly brothers with a great ability for hugs and theatrics.

We took supper at a cafe called Relax. Due to the laid-back nature of the place, it was aptly named. Thanasis took spaghetti and I had dolmades and Greek salad (no, I didn't go vegetarian, I'm just a sucker for dolmades). Whilst we were eating, there were sporadic power failures down the main drag. At one point, the only light was the stars. You could see the outlines of some customers taking advantage of the darkness to skip out on paying the cheque. After the lights came back on, I exchanged my money and bought half of my postcards. The other half were to be bought in Athens.
Favorite Dish: dolmades (stuffed grape leaves), I could eat my weight in them. Relax earns an A.
On Monday, 15 August, we got up round about 10.30 to take breakfast and go to the ferry. Because Thanasis had to work part of the time the following week, he and Spyros suggested I stay in Naxos. I would have done it too, but I only brought 3 days worth of clothing, leaving the lion's share of it in Thanasis' flat in Athens. We took breakfast at the Cafe Politikan on the main drag. We had toast and jelly and the coffee was all right once you got past the first SLICE! I went into a gift shop, the same one it turns out, that I bought postcards the previous night, to buy a few whatnots for myself, my Spanish pen friend, and my Mama (a cookbook).
Favorite Dish: Pastries and strong coffee. The pastries were okay, the coffee wasn't any good. The Cafe Politikan earns the lowly grade of D.
Trata Bar makes a great initial base for breakfast, lunch, dinner, drinks at the start of the night, drinks at the end of the night. A really nicely done place, right on the beach near the surf shops at the end. Food is excellent and a real mix of greek, italian etc., and if you eat in the evening, they have tables on the beach with burners where you can sit and watch the amazing sunset. Lovely lovely people.
Favorite Dish: Well..... the blue cheese pasta was a fave but thats because we'd maxed out on greek food for a week - but everything they did was very very good. Greek salads were enormous and fresh.
If "sweets of any kind" is your little "sin", then you should try the "AKTAION Chocolaterie-Patisserie!In a nice "sugar ambience", although you will prefer to enjoy your coffee and sweet outdoors, sitting, looking at the port of Naxos and enjoying your sweet, you will find a big selection of pastries, be them chocolate ones or other kind, as well as typical sweets from Naxos and the rest of Greece.
All pastries are freshly baked and fresh served, because the AKTAION owners are also the producers!
You can also enjoy your coffee, your tea, your refreshment, as well as your drinks.

The Cafe and Pastry Shop "Rendez-vous" is our "rendez-vous point", as well as a kind of landmark for Naxos Town!
It is my favourite place, when I want to sit down, read my newspapers, sip my cappuccino and try some pastries, like Sacher or Caracas!
Rendez-vous offers a large selection of fresh made pastries, coffees, ice creams, drinks and snacks.As all its products are made in Naxos and it is owned by Naxians, it is a kind of a local institution, a well-known place, on the central part of Naxos Water front.

Another Italian restaurant, at the entrance of the port of Naxos, "il Girasole" (the Sunflower, in Italian), offers the typical Italian dishes you would always ask from a typical Italian restaurant: pizzas, spaghettis, Greek and Italian wines, panacotta and tiramisu.
Favorite Dish: Pizzas.
Run by Ian and Lottie - who are travellers half the year. This restaraunt offers a full range of Indian, Chinese and Thai meals.
Everything is fresh and very well prepared.
Favorite Dish: Everything is great, but we really enjoyed the Pad Thai.
Greek Tavern is an outdoor cafe.
Favorite Dish: I had souvlaki, rice pilaf and, of course, dolmades. It earns a solid B.
