we hired a car from Cyclades, near the ferry terminal. They were very friendly when we booked the car for the next day and said they would have a new car waiting for us. We arrived on the sunday morning and waiting for us was the car.... an old car. We were not too bothered about that so off we went but a few yards away from the office we saw that the petrol dial was on empty! Stopped at the petrol station just across the road BUT it was closed. A friendly local there told us all the petrol stations on Paros are closed on sundays. So we turned around and went back to the office. Where they were surprised to see us, they said that there were two more petrols stations on the road to the left and they would be open. So off we went again but they too were closed. Back to the office were they said that unless the warning light was flahing there was enough petrol to take us around the island!! Well Koos was not having that so they took the car and syphoned off some petrol off another car and off we went again. Charged us 10 euros for the petrol but we got them back (lol) as we returned the car with the dial on empty!
the office is next to the Oasis hotel, in fact they were very friendly and helpful.

Ma Kettle and I had front row seats at Pebbles Bar when the final minutes ticked down. We were part of history.
The streets of Parikia erupted with fireworks, impromptu parades, and cheers that could be heard all over the island when Greece were victorious over Spain for the World Cup.
Motorcycles, cars, and trucks equipped with flares and fireworks circled the streets of Parikia for hours in celebration. No injuries that we heard of, however one minor fire broke out behind Pebbles from over eager participants.
All good natured fun, but could very easily have gotten out of hand.
