I always wanted to build one of those rare sports tips with pictures of attractive and athletic women and men playing a fantastic game of Beach Volleyball. I wanted to have 5 great pictures of this event. With my bad luck I ended up with some severely uncoordinated school kids making the game look bad and making a good example of why there should be mandatory sports in schools.

Well the arena and setting on the beach was good. They have ample seating and they play in proper tournaments here.

    Scooters and Motorbikes from BIKELAND

Hire your scooters or bikes from BIKELAND, in Fira.
The people working here are very helpful, and the price is reasonable.

Don't forget to have your driver's licence to rent vehicles anywhere in Greece.

Be careful when you drive especially in the narrow streets and roads.
There are people who are not used to driving on the opposite side of the road and it is dangerous as an accident might happen.

Don't drink alcohol when you plan to drive. Your life is precious, and the life of others is just as precious as yours!

Be polite when driving and toot the horn if necessary.

If you are a jogging fanatic or a serious runner, options on Santorini off the roads are a bit limited. Offroad the terrain isn't good - volcanic debris - and the roads are heavy trafficed.

With a utilitarian fitness outlook I found that using the steps from Fira and down to Fira harbour and up again was the ideal place for a bit of exercise. I was away from traffic and I did not disturb anyone. Too hot for enjoyment? Dive into the sea once down at the harbour.

Take special care on the way down on the cobblestones which can get slippery from wetness and donkey dung. Uphill is the real exercise factor where you can oush yourself the 587 steps to the top...

    Wring town, similar steps...
