I flew back to Rhodes with Olympic in one of their flying coffins. Huge fun!
The airport has been improved since then, but at the time you took off directly into the mountains and the pilot twisted and turned his way upwards through the valleys and gorges. In such a small plane you can see out both sides, so it was scareeee...
PS "flying coffin" is Scottish-speak for small island hopping planes, and not derogating Olympic Airlines (they've always been good to me!)

There was a service to/from Piraeus (via Crete, I think) but I arrived from Rhodes.
From memory it was not a daily service - maybe twice or three times a week. It was a relatively small ship - not one of the big car ferry type vessels you associate with inter-island ferries in Greece.
Great trip - about 7 hours - so its not a short hop!
Superb views as you approach the harbour at dusk.
