    We booked a boat trip at the hotel reception and was entertained by a colourful local who knew the local waters very well. The trip was great fun and a lovely way to see the area.

    Yes, its crowded - yes its got sunbeds, but the snorkelling is excellent and in shallow water!

    Walk there from Haraki and you'll see loads of lizards along the way!

    The rodini-Park is a nice place to relax. There is a small stream with waterfalls and ponds running between cypresses. best time to go there is spring when everything is in bloom.

    this monastery was built on a hill. you can have a wonderful view there all over the island. there is a chapel with ancient remains of a mosaic floor from an old church.

    This is the major building of the city, you can't miss it. If every place around also has a medieval castle, the one you can see in Rhodes is the most impressive one...

    In the centre of the village stands the Church of the Assumption, dating from the 15th century but on the site of a 10th century basilica. It has a lovely belltower and tiled roof.

    This is the view of the village centre as seen from the acropolis, its twin churches right in the centre of the shot. The village runs right around the base of the hill on which the acropolis stands.

    Once you get to the Acropolis the climb isn't over. To get into the main part of it, there's even more climbing to do! Well, at least there are steps here and it's not so hard!

    Back in the old city, these are only the remaining of an antic temple.
    In fact Rhodes has been created in 408BC with the merging of the three cities on the Island: Lindos, Kamiros and Ialysos.
