While on Rhodes Island we decided to rent a car and get to know the wild part of Rhodes. We asked our hotel owner to find us a car. He called few places and soon we were visited by a hyperactive but friendly car guy :-)
We got a "topless" Chevy Matiz for E120 for 2 days.
We could probably get little better deal if we went straight to the port and got a car there, but ...... who knew...
Our car was fun, it had AC and top that you could open (bigger than a sunroof but not convertible).

The Port in Rhodes is called a commercial port and is located near the old town of Rhodes and the ancient Mandraki harbour, on the Northern side of the island.
This is where you will dock in a Cruise ship, or when you arrive via Ferry, Catamaran etc from Turkey.
At the Port area, there is a Cafe and also a Souvenir shop, and plenty of seating to wait for your Ferry.
Don't forget your passport!
Walk out of the gates, turn right and you are heading in the direction of the Old City.

From Rhodes town you can go to various places on the island by bus. If you'd like to go to the east side of Rhodes (see Faliraki, Kolymbia, Lindos...) you have to take the bus in Rimini Square; near the New Market. The other bus stop where you can take a bus to the west side of the island is in Averof Street. This is some meters far from Rimini Square.

The heavy goods vehicles and the small motorcars are to be transported on the sea water, by the ferry.
This giant ships transfer numerous vehicle, from a harbour to another.
From Rhodes Harbour, drive many ferries that carry persons and cars, to or from the Piraeus Harbour, and from other points.
Many shipping companies serve the route Rhodes Piraeus, and stop at the harbours of the many islands that lie between these ports.

At the coast of the Harbour of Rhodes, there are a large number of small boats to be rent for trips on the sea.
You can negotiate the price for the trip directly with the owner of the boat.
When you have a boat driving license, you can rent the boat without personnel, and when not, then the boat posses its own equipage.

Elegant, gigantic international cruise ships run usually into the Harbour of Rhodes.
These ships are very luxury and offer to the tourists an agreeable vacation of the sea.
We looked at a giant ship that was turn around, with the support of another smaller ship, and it was prepared for the departure from the harbour.
