Actually it was while just wandering towards the Acropolis from the Omonoia Square that we accidentally found the central market. Walking past you cannot miss it because of the smell of raw meat and how busy it is. Along the street in front of the market there are many little shops or stalls selling nuts and so many types of dried fruits - colourful and much better smelling. It is worth venturing into the market though just to have a look and so get photos.
We got some nougat and a bag of peanuts with a sweet seame seed coating - a nice snack for on the ferry.
