Skiathos Island What to Pack

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: This summer it was so hot, that I could only wear sleveless tops and thin cotton skirts and dresses. Even short sleeve shirts were too hot for me, day or evening. Middle of July we had between 34 and 48C degrees, the hottest we ever experienced in Skiathos.
Many people are wearing flip-flops at all times.

Toiletries and Medical Supplies: As there were a lot of mosquitoes this summer again, we bought some mosquito repellant that we put on every night before going out. Needs to be re-applied after a few hours.

My other half and I got both stung by a wasp, so it is advisable to carry a tube of clear gel that can be bought at any pharmacy (several available in Skiathos town) and needs to be applied directly when one has been stung. The wasps seemed to be looking for a shady place and tried to crawl under us and we hadn't realised they were there.
If you don't have gel to apply after the sting, you can cut an onion and hold it onto the sting, it works wonders! Just ignore the smell.
