Mosquitoes and wasps are the main insect problem on Skiathos during the summer. Decent mosquito repellent really does the business - I didn't get bitten once, other people can get bitten 8 or 9 times a day.
Wasps seemed to be everywhere food was. Don't make them angry... I did, and it hurt a lot. Unfortunately there's not a lot you can do to get rid of them.

Some roads in Skiathos island are very bad. So u have to be careful and ask before you use a road to travel around the island.
