Archaeological site of Sesklo
by volopolo
The prehistoric settlement of Sesklo grew up on the Kastraki hill and surrounding area, near the modern village of Sesklo. Sesklo was first ocupied in the middle of the 7 th millennium. The architectural remains of this period are scanty, and consist of elliptical trenches dug into the ground with walls projecting above ground - level, made of branches and mud. The people of this age lived by stock-raising and farming. A large number of bone tools, obsidian and flint blades, stone tools and a few clay figurines come from this period.Site Monuments in Sesklo:- Megaron of the Neolithic period at Sesklo- House "of the Potter" at SeskloInformationName: SeskloPrefecture: MagnesiaLocation: Thessaly, Central Greece (15 km outside from Volos city, the capital city of Magnesia prefecture).Pictures in the web: Archaeological site of SeskloLast Visit: July 2007 (Its also near to my hometown)My...
