We stopped here and had a burger before hopping on the ferry to Poros. The guy was thrilled to see us and had just opened that week. We each 4 of us had a cheese burger and It was delicious everything was fresh and inside was spotlessly clean. When we went inside to pay the lady spoke to our girls and gave us each a piece of her home made apple and cinnamon pie well its a good job we dont stay in galatas if that was a sample of the home baking! Yummy!
Favorite Dish: The cheese burgers and the home made apple pie!
The restaurant have a little dining area on the water covered by umbrella and a wider area in front of the building covered by a green and refreshing pergola. The owner speak english and is really nice and helpful.
The menu selection is not wide but their specialty is fresh fish. The owner took me to the kitchen to show me the different fish they had for the day and I picked the one I wanted, he weighted it and told me how much it was going to cost, so no surprise.
We also ordered horta , marinated anchovy and fried small fish.
WIth 2 Mythos beer and water the meal cost us 50 Euros, not cheap of course but well worth it.
I would definitely go back.
Favorite Dish: Everything was exceptionally fresh, cooked perfercly and delicious.
While at the beach in Vivari we saw this nice looking restaurant a little over the beach. The night after we decided to try it and it turned out to be good.
It have a nice dining area on the top of the rocks over the beach, light blue chair and plants.
The menu selection was good, we were not very hungry so we ordered only some small appetizer and the fried fish mix for two and beers. The fish was perfectly cook, the portion was kind of small but we were okay with that. The dinner costed us 22 euros.
This restaurant is right on the village beach. You can literally eat with your feet on the sand listening to the waves and looking at the little fish eating the piece of bread you throw them.
It is a basic greek place, the menu have the usual selection of grilled meat, fish and few more stuff. The waiter speak a elementary english.
We ordered tzatziky, grilled octopus and pork souvlaky (grilled meat on a stick) but we have not been impressed by the quality of the food. The octopus and the souvlaky were overcooked, giving us the impression it was something they had done earlier and heated up on the grill before they serve..
We were attracted by this restaurant on the seafront because it look really nice and romantic. There are tables on a pier with candlelight etc.
The menu has a good selection of greek traditional food, not different from any other, the waiters were friendly and spoke a good english.
What really disappointed us was the food. The stuffed tomatoes I had were not very tasty and the lamb stew was more fat than meat, the worst of the trip as even the ferry's self service restaurant served us better one....
My dear friend Anna (Anpe) took us to this restaurant our first night in Tolon, the food was amazingly good, fresh and tasty and we loved it so much we went back several time.
The restaurant is very basic, they have maybe 30 tables under a awning, there are fan during the hot days of summer to keep customers cool.
The food is simply presented but it is sure exceptional.
Favorite Dish: We tried a lot of their specialty, our favorite was octopus in vinegar, grilled octopus, tzatziky, their fried zucchini balls, fried small fish, dolmades (wine leaves stuffed with rice) ... really hard to pick a favorite as we pretty much enjoyed all we tried here!
Marinero taverna is a couple of blocks away from the beach and not the first place you tend to notice.
It's worth hiking up there though as they do serve some very decent greek food.
They have a good authentic kitchen and the place has been run by the same family since 1985.
Favorite Dish: Anything that is local there is good in my experience.
Are you kinding? This is Greece, this is Tolo, this is the Mediterrean Mer...eveyrthing is wonderfully delicious here. How to go wrong, when your table in the beach front, waves come crashing at your feets and your waiter is your fisherman and cook all in one? Mmmm... only tip here is to try anything and everything. It is all good!
Favorite Dish: Favourite dish:
Road side BBQ stand set up by some local sherpard . Served us a hearty helping of the rustic Greek salad, spit roasted whole young lamb and some chickens. Along with this some fresh baked bread, olivia oil, olives and of course, watermelon. I cannot imagine having anything better since.
And as we backpacked through Greece, I saw this style of road-side BBQ in several locales.
