The most interesting, unique and perhaps controversial???tatoo I've ever seen, was the one touted by the Lifeguard at the beach in Vouliagmeni. On his entire back, stretching from just beneath his neck, going down to just above his waist and extending vertically from one shoulder to the other, was a very large tatoo of Christ on the Cross. The irony of this picture were the words on the back of his shorts which read, 'Lifeguard.' Was it just a coincidence? No doubt this young man is a devout believer in the power of the 'icon' on his back. I wonder what Christodoulos would think of this display? Oh well, to each his own! I just hope that in the event of a person in distress upon the sea, that his (the lifeguard) 'actions would speak louder than his words!'
