Getting to Vouliagmeni is a bit tricky but worth it. From Syntagma Square, Bus # E22 goes direct to the Vouliagmeni stop, this is an express bus and I learn (after using the bus) that this is not covered in 3 euros 24 hours Athens transporation pass. Anyhow, we actually took a tram from Syntagma that was terminated at Voula (Glyfada is 4-5 stops before Voula), it took us more than an hour as the tram is slow and has lots of stops. From Voula, we traced out that Buses # 114, 115, and 116 go to the beach, none of them showed up in the next 30-40, minutes and somone told us to get onto Bus # E22, which we did and got there in like 10 minutes. We used the same E22 bus to get back to Syntagma, which is fast and direct. Note that there are very few people in Athens who are aware of Vouliagmeni and the transporatation options so it will be all your skills. One last thing, it became a treat for us as we were expecting a fee but the beach was absolutley free! Good Luck and enjoy!!
