Drinking Age in Greece

Is there any practical reason why governments impose an age limit for drinking alcohol??? Yes, perhaps there is. In Greece, the official drinking age is 17, but this is seldom enforced. Drinking in Greece is not considered a 'taboo sport,' as it is in other countries. If, you are planning on coming to Greece to drink just to drink and get drunk, as many young visitors from more strict countries often do, then you must be prepared to face the personal consequences. Even though you may be overlooked by the law,.you should be thinking only of your own safety and your health. So sadly, many young and inexperienced drinkers, come to Greece and they drink too much. Hopefully, the worse they suffer is a bad hangover...but, I have been witness to far worse scenarios...several of which even ended tragically.Sorry if I sound like I am preaching, but, just use your common sense and be careful.
