Gere Attila Winery has organically cultivated vineyards with their top wines being Kopar, Solus, Cabernet Franc Selection, Attila, Syrah, Tempranillo, Pinot Noir, and their newest wine: FRICI sparkling rosé.
Attila Gere first took interest in Villány wines in 1978 while tasting home-made versions from his father-in-law.
The Attilla Gere Winery is comprised of a full, on-site winery, plus an accompanying hotel, restaurant and both on-site and online gift shop. During my visit, I experienced all but the hotel.
Gere is one of Hungary’s largest premier wine producers and their fruit is both hand-picked and hand-sorted at the winery. Red wines are fermented with wild yeast and generally, no sulfur is added until after fermentation.
Since 1978, the winery has grown and modernized but has not drastically adjusted Gere's wine making principals. The large cellar contains a wide variety of oak barrel types, (most are Hungarian), where the premium wines ferment and age..
I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to the Gere Winery with the wine tasting, tour, the food and the ambiance along with the friendly staff,

Some of our friends stayed in this pension while we were at Solt, but we all had lunch here.
Because we didnt arrive in the same time to Villany from different parts of the country, we needed all the patience of the waiters, seemed like the group would never end eating. The food was really good and tasted home-made, and they were really kind, i recommend to have a meal there.
Favorite Dish: I had a chicken soup and three of us shared a 'Remete Plate' which contained all kind of yummy stuff such as stuffed camembert, grilled chicken, steak, rice, french fries and pickle.
For dessert had a deliciousssss pancake stuffed with cottage cheese.
