Favorite thing: This beautiful, secession-style (folkish) building gives home the College of Pedagogy. Nurses of kindergarten and teachers of elementary school are educated here.
College from the 17. century. During the religion wars Sarospatak was center for protestants. This college was established to educate teachers and to be the home of Hungarian scientists when 1/3 of Hungary was occupied by the Turkish Empire and in the land of Habsburg - occupation offical religion was catholic.
The well-known pedagogist Comenius (from Czecz areas) lived here and wrote his most important books.
Now it is still a college for teology, pedagogy and other subjects.
