Favorite thing: I don't expect people in whose country I am visiting, to speak English. So, I have the desk clerk of my hotel write the name of those locations that I wish to visit on the back of a hotel card in the native language. I write the name of that location in English, on the front. You can get around by bus or taxi (or even ask directions on the street) by showing this card. It also gets you back to your hotel when you're finished for the day. The cards make great keepsakes if you're keeping a scrapbook or journal.

Favorite thing: many tips re: hustling with taxi drivers.

    My tip:
Take the airport taxi when you arrive - it is more easy than ensuring you found a non-mafia taxi. Just book one way (2100 huf per person).

Ask your hotel to book taxi to go back to the airport. Ask them to use the company that charges 3500 huf. I think the phone number is 7777777.

Favorite thing: Be aware that the average cost of a taxi ride is around 200-300 HUF/ km (an average ride in the city will cost around 1, 000 - 2,000 HUF.
