Baraka: Try to dishes you have never had

At our second night, we decided to go to Baraka which has a minimalist decoration that I love. There is a smart atmosphere where you may want to be with your partner.

We were so fine with our main dishes. The desserts don't disappoint neither.

Don't forget to make a reservation

    Baraka: Wonderful Place to Eat

This resturant was recommended by the travel guide I was using. This is one of the times when the travel guide is spot on. This is a great little resturant not far from the Astoria Hotel.

It is owned by a couple and has a very private and intimate ambience. Part of it was that the resturant is located down an alley, although a very safe alley. Many of the patrons were repeat customers for were friends with the owner who made a point of meeting everyone. At least they seemed like friends, that's how personal the owner was with everyone.

The food is a Hungarian fusion. It has some asian elements that make the overall quality of the food lighter than traditional Hungarian dishes. It could easliy be a resturant that you would find in NY or SF. In fact, the owner did culinary work in NY.

Favorite Dish: The food and wine was delightful. The creme brulee was a little soft, but I make my own to be firm, so this was more of a preference issue. The chicken and noodles that I had was very good. The chicken was crusted in lemon pepper and was cooked so that it was done, yet very tender. The noodles were a nice complement. Nothing was over or under flavored. Just balanced. Highly recommended

  • Baraka: Baraka has a new location

by mseboek Updated Apr 10, 2008

Baraka has moved to a new location on the beautiful Andrassy ut. one block from the Heroes Square. It is located in the 5 star Andrassy hotel and is truly elegant and a wonderful experience. The food is exquisite from the first couses, intermezzo and amazing deserts from the owner/pastry chef.

Favorite Dish: The dishes are edible artwork each one surpasses the previous. My personal favorite is the pan seared goose liver with hazelnuts and poached pears.
