Karma offers good international/asian food and tasty cocktails as well.
It's good for a family gathering, but it's best for a meeting for 2, just be sure to reserve your table/seats in the upper back section :)
Once in Karma and still have place for some dessert, don't miss the "Red currant-pistachio brownie with vanilla ice"...it's just fantastic! Look great too, ha? :)
Favorite Dish: Red currant-pistachio brownie with vanilla ice...absolute best :)
Karma is a good choice if you wnat to feel a vibrating atmosphere, eat great food and dont want to be disturbed by waiters...
I advise to make a reservation if you want to have a table, because the restaurant in just full at the busy hours
Karma is a nicely decorated cafe/restaurant serving a variety of dishes from different cuisines. It has 2 branches : One in Liszt Ferenc Ter, the other one in Westend shopping center. Both places are very popular and finding a table is sometimes very difficult. The quality of food and service is very satisfactory. The prices are a bit higher than average rates. However, the decoration creates a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere which compensates the higher cost.
This is the place to go if you want to eat or drink in a good atmosphere. Me and my friends mostly go here just to drink a coffe or have one of their wonderful coctails. Friendly staff, great lounge vibe and definitely the best place to sit on Liszt Ferenc square (and I have tried a few haha)! I especially love the oriental decorations and furnishing.
The best time to visit Karma is in the summer, when the sun begins to set and after. We always start the night here. :)
The food is great, dishes are directed towards the east, like indian.
Ambience is great, relaxed and very cozy (see photo).
It's average-priced but the food is great and the drinks are exotic.
Favorite Dish: My favourite dish is some chicken in curry sauce with pita bread and youghurt on the side. To top that - the Karma Lemonade, made of freshly squeezed orange and lime juice, soda and lots of crushed ice. So simple but soooo exotic!
A little slice of fusion cuisine was exactly what I needed after one too many fried cheese salads in Budapest. So, we found ourselves at Karma, a restaurant offering discounts to Budapest Card holders, located on the super-popular, super-cute Liszt Ferenc ter (#11, to be exact). I couldn't resist the opportunity to start my meal with cold fruit soup. This cool bowl of sour berry soup was topped with a dollop of whipped cream so sweet I had to ask if I'd accidentally ordered dessert. Nope, the waiter assured me this was a normal Hungarian appetizer. Then, I had an entree of vegetable fried rice, which was great as I hadn't tasted that combo of soy and sesame in weeks. The menu had lots of meaty dishes, as well as options inspired by Hungary, Italy, India and China. Most of the people at the restaurant were locals- I guess tourists don't come to Hungary for butter chicken! There was an expansive cocktail menu and a great dessert menu too. If you've been traveling for a while and need a taste of something different, Karma is a good choice in Budapest.
three of us ordered duck breats with a potato scone and quince. We like our duck rare but this wasnt even seared. the quince was in fact a pear and no one seemed in the slightest concerned that themeat was left uneaten. it really was very unpleasant...a meal to forget!
Favorite Dish: tomato juice
"Karma's" interior looks like, as we called "Between Africa and India".
Only minus there was - a little bit lazy waiters :-)
Favorite Dish: We take here o cup of coffee. Coffee was excellent.
