Nagyi Palacsintazoja - Granny's Pancake Restaurant, Budapest

Nagyi palacsintazoja (Granny's pancakery) started in a small panckae restaurant near Moszkva square (in front of the Shell gas station on Szena square - Hattyu street 16). The original restaurant still exist but now Granny has more pancake restaurants in the city.

The best is the one on Batthianyi ter. If you happen to go there in good weather and can sit outside, you will have a nice view on the Castle and on the Parliament at the same time.

There are sweet and salty pancakes as well, you just have to mix them right :)

Favorite Dish: My favourite is the "Ocsi menu" (young brother menu) which consist of 2 salty (champignon and cheese) and 2 sweet (chocolate) pancakes and a soda :)

A small cafe on Batthyany Square (there's usually an open-air fruit and vegetable market in the center of the Square). It's located directly across the river from Parliament.It is small and there is usually a line but it moves fast and they have an English menu, just ask for it.

Favorite Dish: They have savory as well as dessert crepes, but I'd recommend the later. The former are not very filling. Any of the sweet crepes are scrupmtious. Order several varieties and share!
