All the reviews below are outdated and refer to a different restaurant. Pest Buda has a new owner and was made over 100% and has reopened as one of the coolest Hungarian restaurants in town. Features grandma's Hungarian kitchen from great ingredients, with love and soul. Casual and fresh and features the only true chef's table in the astonishing kitchen - ask for it, only the enlightened know about it :-)
Favorite Dish: Traditional flamed pies, home made sausage made with Tokaj wine
The meet is dry and cold, the potatoes are fat and tastless.
All clients are served in one time, after one hour waiting.
A violin player ennoying the guests asking for money, the whole evening.
For the bill, watch your money, because if questioned, they take it out of your hands.
The only time we were asked for fee.
A club of bandits in fact, with never seen bad qualitie of food.
Favorite Dish: the exit
From the outside it looks good but once you are seated you really have to suffer the violinist playing songs from the shows who you don't pay for the music - you pay for him to go away! Perhaps you like predatory musicians but we didn't.
The food was extremely average - a stuffed chicken breast in a rather watery sauce and rather flaccid trout with prawns. Both main courses gave every impression of having sat under a halogen lamp for several hours before serving.
Budapest is rightly famed for its superb restaurants and eateries. This definitely isn't one of them. Avoid.
The food was not bad but overpriced (for the city) and in very little quantities...
Even worse musician were playing gipsy music at each table and begging for money : some people may like it, i did not!! (even if I love gipsy music)
Favorite Dish: If you are in the area and looking for food, rather walk for 15 min to Aranyszarvas Vendéglö, no comparison possible, day and night !!!!
