Around this street and on this pedestrian street itself, there is the most important and famous area for shopping.
What to buy: Hungarians have some very good wines and the more famous is of course Tokaj.
Also, they have lots of excelent delicacies with their hot red pepper.

Although this shop is very very small it has some great pieces of costume jewelry at very reasonable prices.
What to pay: I paid 3500 HUF (about $17 USD) for a nice necklace

The market hall in Budapest is a good place for shopping of food items, spieces and other interesting stuff.
In Budapest you can buy very nice souvenirs. The most beautiful are painting eggs or dolls with Hungarian dress. You can find many of these shops in the Buda Castle.

Terez Patika: Night pharmacy near Nyugati station
Terez Patika is a well equipped pharmacy which is also open during the night (they give out the medicaments through a little window, but still...).
They also have homeopatic things.
Kigyo Gyogyszertar: Old stlye pharmacy in the center
The Kigyo (Snake) Pharmacy's interior is just as like a pharmacy was in the good old days, but you can surely find the new medicaments here as well.
Budagyongye - Szega cheese shop: Budagyongye - Cheese with cheese
Want to find your favourite cheese here in Budapest? Szega is one of the best cheeseshops around town.
The shop is in the basement.
What to buy: Well...cheese! :)

Terkepkiraly - Map King: Maps for all from the Map King
Terkepkiraly is a nice shop of maps and travel related books near the city center.
What to buy: Maps, travel guides, etc.
Vaci utca: Vaci utca
For the trendiest and top brands of clothing, jewelry, and accessories, Vaci utca is the place to go. It is a pedestrian only street right off Vorosmarty ter. It can get expensive.
West End City Centre: Huge and trendy mall near Nyugati
West End is huge shopping centre, with a Multiplex cinema, many CD and clothes shops, there is also a dramatic waterful to welcome you in.
What to buy: I bought Lacoste shoes for 80 euros
Westend City Center: A nice mall
Located in the wester part of Budapest, it's a big modern, and nicely arranged mall. One can find everything there, and I saw people lying around and just enjoing the atmosphere.

Old Flea Market: Old Flea Market
Visit the old market place at the end of Vaci Utca street. Its quite beautiful. But, check the timings, as its open only till 12.00 p.m on saturdays
