Walk across the Danube via the Chain bridge. The bridge is guarded by four lions - two on each end!!

While the trams in Budapest provide easy transportation, be sure walk across the bridges and enjoy the Danube. The Chain Bridge has a nice pedistrian walk way.

The Chain Bridge is one of Budapests most famous bridges.

The bridge is huge, and the views are great.

It was bombed during World war 2 and was later rebuilt.

This is the oldest bridge in Budapest. It was the first to link Buda and Pest in 1849. It is the best one to take to get from Pest to the main sites in Buda.

This the first bridge over the Danube. It was built in 1849, linking Buda & Pest.

It was destroyed by bombing during WWII, but reopened in 1949 for it's 100th anniversary.

I am sure that this bridge must be the most beautiful in Budapest. It links to two parts of the city together. With the two lions protecting it and the lovely old lamps to light the way forward.

If you're going to cross one of the bridges, make sure its this one. Lots of great photo opportunities. Once you get across to Buda take the funicular up and have walk around the palace area.

There are many bridges spanning the Danube. Two of the most interesting are the Elizabeth Bridge and the Chain Bridge.
