One of the guide advice you to visit this Bastion. Something related with the fisherman. But from here, view of Budapest also fantastic.

    Fishermans Bastion.

A quirky looking landmark that looks a lot older than its is. A wander around the walls the with the wonderful Mattais chruch in the background is a must.

The views of the city are superb!!

    Fishermen's Bastion - Budapest

    * The name comes from the fact that it was built on the site of a former fish market. It is an excellent look-out place, offering great view on the other bank of Danube

    St. Istvan Statue

A statue of St. Istvan, Hungary's first Christian king, stands in front of Fisherman's Bastion. One of my earlier tips on Budapest has a short bio of St. Istvan (Stephen).

That´s a great view from Fisherman´s Bastion. I loved it. Here you see the river Donau and the Parliament.
I can recommend to make a guided tour in the Parliament. I know it´s in german or english.

This strange looking monument was built in 1905 and is dedicated to the fishermen who helped defend Budapest from enemy attack in the middle ages.

Taken from Halaszbastya(Fishermen Bastion). It's a big contrast between modern and ancient. It's a pity that this picture wasn't scanned well!!!!! :(

The view from the top of the Bastion looking back to the Pest side. You get a clear view of Parliament and much further if the weather is clear.

A fairytale like structure overlooking the Danube, built on the site of an old fish market. Traditionally known as the place where the fishermen were supposed to have defended the castle wall.
