Margaret bridge (Margit hid in Hungarian) is a bridge between Buda and Pest and leads up to Margaret island.
The bridge , which is the second oldest bridge (after chain bridge) , is 637 meters long , was built between 1872-1876.
The bridge connects Germanus gyula park and jaszai mari square.
Margharet Bridge was built in 1876 with the part leading to Margaret island added in 1901. Like all other bridges over the Danube in Budapest, irt was destroyed by the retreating Nazis in 1944.
