This is the world's second biggest synagogue today. Moorish style, designed by German architect, Ludwig Forster. Opened on 6 Sept 1859.
We didn't visit the interior but the outside is beautiful.
This building bears testament to Hungary's once thriving Jewish population almost entirely wiped out in WWII. The Synagogue was built in 1849 and is Europe's largest Synagogue.
The synagogue was just opposite our hostel and it is impressive with big domes on top. There is a plaque marking Herzls place of birth and a few kosher shops around, and some orthodox Jews too.
Go to the Museum on the first floor while waiting for a guided tour and buy some artifacts on the little shops at the entrance.
This is the central Synagogue of Budapest built in the 19 century. It is one of the largest Synagogues of the world, a reminded of the large Jewish community that used to live here before WWII
This amazing synagogue really is something special. I've never seen real synagogue, so I was really thrilled with this one.
