    Vajdahunyad Castle

The City Park the largest park on the Pest side. Zoo Boulevard is the Zoo with the Municipal Circus next to it further down is the Amusement Park and on the opposite side are the Szechenyi Baths. Behind that is the artificial lake, it becomes an artificial skating rink in winter.
Small Island in the lake you find an interesting group of buildings, Vajdahunyad Castle.

One of the most interesting fixtures in City Park is the Castle of Vajdahunyad. Built in 1896.This unique building with multiple courtyards combines Roman, Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque palaces, castles, towers, churches and parapets.
On weekends with nice weather, the courtyards are crowded with tourists. (Admission to the courtyards is free.)

Vajdahunyad castle is just across the Heroes Square(Hösök tere).
I met someone when asked her to take my picture in the city park. Strange, maybe not strange but not very common, we are still friends.

excellent medieval-looking castle surrounded by the nice park. In the garden, near the castle, there is a minument of Anonimus, the 'servant of two lords' who was serving to two hungarian kings and wrote 'reports' to them about each other :)

This is not a real castle but a tourist attraction designed to showcase the varied castle styles that exist within Hungary. It contains an agricultural museum and a performance hall.

Probably the most attractive construction in the City Park. A fun place to visit that carries a lot of history on its back.

The castle serving as a agricultural museum is a little jewel of architecture. Unfortunately I don't have any more info on it , but I am sure it's easy to find more on VT

    Statue of Anonymous

The very haunting Statue of Anonymous is located on the grounds of Vajdahunyad Castle. It was finished in 1903 by Miklos Ligeti and is one of Budapest's most famous monuments.

This castle in City Park was constructed for Budapest's Millennium exhibition of 1896. Its purpose was to display many Hungarian architectural styles in one structure.

Not very old but interesting. Parts of the castle are built in different styles. They are copies of some famous buildings in Europe. The lake by the castle is used for ice skating in winter.
