Vigado Concert Hall
Dominating Vigado Square is the opulent Vigado Concert Hall. The facade is decorated with folk motifs, dancers on columns, and busts of statemens, leaders and other prominent Hungarians.
In the center of the building is the Hungarian Coat of Arms. The structure you see here was built by Frigyes Feszl in 1859-64 when the original was destroyed in a fire.
Vigadó Concert Hall
The building was constructed between 1859 and 1864 in a mixture of styles. The façade includes features such as dancers atop columns and busts of former monarchs and famous Hungarians. Love the building!! :)
There is almost always something on there (from orchestral concerts to FOLK DANCING), so check the local listings :)

PLACE OF MERRIMENT!
The beautiful Vigadó Concert Hall, known as the most beautiful Concert Hall in Budapest, can be seen on your walk along the Danube Promenade.
The Concert Hall was built in 1865 to replace another on the same site that was destroyed by fire in the 1848 War of Independence. The new Vigado was damaged during World War II and took 36 years to completely rebuild it.
The style is described as Oriental and Hungarian Art Nouveau mingling with romance, a style I found very attractive!. In the interior are ballad themed-frescoes of the interior. Drama performances, chamber concerts and various other cultural events and exhibitions are held here.
The Budai Vigadó is the home stage of the Hungarian State Folk Ensemble. The group of 30 dancers, a 5 member folk band, and a 14 member Gypsy band was formed in 1951 with Hungarian traditional dance and music.
Today, leading artists from around the world come to this Concert Hall.
