Westend is a huge shopping center on the Pest side of town next to Nyugati Railway Station. Westend's more than 350 stores include some designer clothing shops, shoe stores, jewelry shops, a parfumeria, Starbucks, a book store, and an Italian import store. The food court has many restaurants including Istanbul, a Turkish fast food restaurant with delicious food. The top floor has some "sit-down" restaurants and bars. Westend also has a very large movie theater. In the winter there is ice-skating just outside the mall. There are several floors here and you can easily spend the whole day browsing and shopping. If you need to shop or look for something, you can probably find it in Westend.
Although i wrote it on my shopping tips and a big shopping center i think it is a must see place.
This mall center is one of the biggest malls i've seen !
This is the biggest mall in Hungary the 3 floors , a lot of restaurants , stores.
Very close to Nyugati station.
Vaci Utca is the place to be for buying souvenirs. But keep in mind that you pay a lot more than anywhere else in the city.
Don't go drinking in the cafés in this street. There are 12 cafés who deceive you with the bills; they charge you bottles of wine you didn't drink let alone order. More information about this tricks in my 'tourist trap tip'.
This is the only American style shopping mall in town. It has clothing stores, electronics shops, food court, etc. It also has something I have never seen at a mall before. It has this observation balloon you can ride and see the city from. Unfortunately for me it was in repair the day i visited.
Sometimes you may find something unexpected in Budapest.
As Budapest came out of the communism mentality in recent years, bits of pieces of development happens around the Nyurgati station. Is the most developed and sophisticated mall in central europe.
Offers from food, retail. fashion and gadgets that you felt you're in America or UK big malls.
SHOPPING!!!!! But of course!!!! The best place to do it (if you have a wallet full of cash) is the Westend Mall on Vaci u. right beside the Nyugati Train station.
