3 ReviewsMorrisons pub is the place you should go if you wonder where the party's at. :)
It's quite small and in the summer it gets a bit too warm, but besides from that, this is one of my favourite spots!...

Don't miss to walk along the Danube and enjoy the sun setting slowly behind the Buda hills - it is awesome! We spent about an hour there watching the changing of the colors, see the different lights turn on and the orange turn into black - just wonderful!!
Ferenc Liszt Square: Budapest the 'New East Berlin'!
by Ibiza_Nino
Ferenc Liszt Ter (Square) named after the great composer.....Great people watching place with Hungarian divas and posers. we met these 2 girls giving out flyers to a party the following night, I met one of them the week before in B52 Disco where I danced untilthe early hours.Cafe Icognito used to be the place but since my last visit 5 years before it is no longer the 'trendy' place it used to be.Well a fun place to hang out before going onto a club or bar.

The spoon: Restaurant ships along the Danube
by globetrott
Between the Chain bridge and Elisabeth-bridge you may find a lot of great restaurant-ships docked and waiting there for guests - even in winter 3 of them were opened and in summer there will be more of them, including a Casino-ship.The view on the castle is stunning, although some tourists might prefer to go on a Dinner-cruise instead of staying at the same spot all the time.On the other hand, a restaurant-ship like "the spoon" on my picture is certainly the better choice for a perfect dining-atmosphere.Click on the link below and have a look at their web-page !
The spoon seems to be the most formal of all these restaurant-ships.
Budapest at night: Take a nightwalk around the castle of Buda
by globetrott
The castle of Buda is beautifully lighted at night and walking through its park is easy and offers great panorama-views over the Danube, Buda and Pest. This picture was taken in january 2005 at 09.00p.m. and almost nobody else was to be seen in the garden. Some places of the castle-hill seem to be sensitive regarding terrorist attacks maybe, because you will see some policemen on the watch - BUT somehow this fact also adds some more security for ordinary tourists.
Good shoes are best when you intend to WALK down afterwards over the steps ( the funicular will stop running down at 10.00p.m.)
Budapest at night: Fisher Bastion - totally empty at night
by globetrott
Fisher Bastion is a really romantic place at night and especially photomaniacs will realize, that all of the tourists are somewhere else and taking pictures is really easy then.Everything is beautifully lighted -also in wintertime - and all of the places that you may enter freely during the day will be also open all night.
NObody cares about that, but in winter it might be the best to have good shoes and be maybe extra careful because of eventual icy spots.
Budapest Operett Színház: how about Operettas & Musicals ?
by globetrott
Just opposite of the "House of Photography" you will see this lovely building with a nice Art Nouveau-entrance and a beautiful entree. Click on my picture and you will see the lovely facade of that building obviously dating back also to the end of the 19th centrury. They had a performance called "Mozart 100" - just a pity I did not have enough time to go there !
Budapest Operett Színház is certainly NO place, where you need to dress up formally.
Budapest at night: Vigadó / Pester Redoute
by globetrott
Vigadó / Pester Redoute is a beautiful old palace and music-hall, where you may still attend concerts at special times. It seems to be at least partly under reconstruction now, but it looks great already from outside and might be worth to take a closer look at the lovely Romantik facade. In this music-hall Franz Liszt and Richard Wagner had a concert in the year 1885.
In general you would not need to be dressed formally for such a concert.
The Danube: Take a night-stroll along the Danube
by globetrott
Take a night-stroll along the Danube and you will pass by plenty of restaurant-ships even in wintertime. All the pics that you see on this page were made in January 2005.In the back of my picture you may see the castle of Budapest, the Fisher-bastion and the famous Chainbridge. All of these sights are lighted until late after midnight and it is best to explore them at night, when all of the tourists have left ...
Make sure you are dressed warmly in wintertime, walking along the river might be windy and a lot colder than in the centre of town.
