Hungary is not just Budapest, its capital. Although it is the busiest - and the most beautiful - city in the country, there are some good places in the country as well. For example Visegrád - where kings lived centuries ago and Balatonfelvidék - where you can tase excellent wines. (Picture: Buda and Pest - the closer is Buda)

It’s one of the biggest parliaments in the world: 268 meters long, 118 wide, 96 high (the dome) and 691 rooms. SEE MY TRAVELOGUE FOR MORE INFORMATION

by joefred28

From Gödöllõ it's not too much farther to Budapest. There are many good pages about this city, such as the one by LAVEP, therefore I'll just mention some of the things I didn't see on other VT members' pages. To start with, if you are planning to stay for a whileand will be using public transportation, it will probably pay to get ticket vouchers (BÉRLET) good for several days to a week or more. These vouchers are good for ALL public transportation within the city.
